BELLYDANCE VANCOUVER is proud to present the legendary Greek-American bellydancer Helena Vlahos in a workshop & Gala performance.

Helena is famous for the belly coin rolling trick that was featured in the 70's TV show "That's Incredible".

She also made it into the Guinness Book Of World Records for her amazing abdominal control which includes folding a dollar bill with her belly!

Orginally from Greece, Helena Vlahos has been bellydancing professionally since the 60's and was the star of Hollywood's ethnic Near Eastern nightclub scene for many years. Some of the more famous spots were places such as Athenian Restaurant and Shakour's Oasis, as well as the Fez, the Seventh Veil, the Egyptian Gardens, and the Greek Village.

Helena is still performing and teaching all over the U.S. and internationally and the demand for her as an artist of Near East dance is even greater now than ever.

NOVEMBER 29, 2008 GALA SHOW!
Evening Show - Saturday November 29

The evening show will take place in the kind of venue that gave birth to the common bellydance experience - That of a taverna-like atmosphere with live music. The Kalypso Restaurant & Ouzeria on Robson Street will be hosting the show and there will be no cover charge (only a minimum food/beverages order of $20). There will be guests artists from Vancouver's dance communtiy featured as well. We are expecting a large crowd for this event so early reservations are strongly suggested! Workshop space is also limited because we are trying to create a pleasant, intimate experience for all attendees - so early registration is also very important.
